My Story, My Why

Licensed Clinical Social Worker · Trauma-Informed Consultant · Speaker · Supervisor

I didn’t come into this work because it sounded good on paper. I came into it because I know what it feels like to grow up carrying unspoken pain, invisible expectations, and the pressure to always push through.

As a first-generation Nigerian-American woman raised in the South, I learned early how to navigate multiple worlds—honoring my family’s legacy while trying to figure out who I was and where I belonged. That lived duality continues to shape how I show up in every space I work in: therapy rooms, consultation calls, classrooms, and boardrooms alike.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: when people feel safe, seen, and supported, real transformation becomes possible.

MY STORY

My Path to This Work

My clinical career began in 2015, working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and autism. Over time, my work expanded into behavioral and mental health settings, where I supported individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, identity exploration, burnout, and life transitions.

I’ve always been drawn to the parts of people that feel misunderstood—the stories that live beneath the surface, the patterns shaped by survival, culture, and unspoken expectations. The deeper I went into individual healing work, the clearer something became: healing cannot stop at the personal level. It has to extend into the systems, workplaces, and environments we spend our lives in.

That realization led to the expansion of my work beyond the therapy room—and ultimately to the creation of LNI Consulting.
