Beyond the Model: Finding Your Flow Between Approaches

A small, closed consultation group for therapists trained in EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing โ€” for the moments when you've tried everything you know, and you're ready to trust where the work is asking to go.

You've tried everything you know. The client still isn't moving.

You're trained in more than one modality โ€” maybe several. You've gotten consultation in each of them individually, followed the protocols, done the work. And yet, with this particular client, none of it is landing. Their system isn't online, and you're left wondering what you're missing.

01

The approaches feel separate

You know EMDR. You know IFS. You know Brainspotting. But in the room, they live in different boxes โ€” switching between them feels abrupt instead of organic.

02

The "right moment" feels unclear

Most trainings tell you exactly when to introduce a technique. Your client doesn't read the manual โ€” and waiting for the textbook cue means missing the opening that's actually there.

03

You second-guess your instincts

Something in you senses an opening โ€” a shift, a felt sense, a place to follow. Without a space to test that instinct, it's easier to stay with what's "approved" than what you're noticing.

04

You want this to feel like yours

Not a new framework to memorize. A way of working that feels like an extension of who you already are โ€” flexible, attuned, and genuinely yours.

Clear. Confident. Comfortable.

This isn't about adding another modality to your toolkit. It's about what happens when you walk back into session afterward.

Clear

You leave with a clearer read on where your client's system actually is โ€” and which door is open right now, not which one the protocol says should be next.

Confident

You trust the call you're making. Moving from IFS into a somatic moment, or letting Brainspotting open into EMDR processing, stops feeling like a risk and starts feeling like a response.

Comfortable

The work feels like yours. Less performing a model correctly, more being yourself in the room โ€” with the training underneath you, not in front of you.

This isn't a class. It's a working group for case consultation.

Plenty of trainings will teach you how to combine two modalities โ€” usually with a specific sequence: do this, then this. That's useful, and it's not what this is.

You're not coming here to learn what Brainspotting is, or to be re-taught the phases of EMDR. You already know that. You're coming here because you want to get better at moving between what you know โ€” following your client's system instead of a predetermined sequence, and trusting the felt sense of an opening when it shows up.

Each session is built around real cases. You'll bring a client you're working with โ€” the backdrop, where things are stuck, what you've already tried. Together, we'll work through it: sometimes through discussion, and sometimes through embodied exploration โ€” using whatever's nearby, role-playing a moment, or trying an intervention live so you can feel what shifting between approaches actually opens up.

Trained In

You should already have working knowledge of at least two or three of the following. This group builds on that training โ€” it doesn't replace it.

  • EMDR Primary
  • Brainspotting Primary
  • IFS Primary
  • Somatic Experiencing
Trained in at least 2โ€“3 of the above. If Somatic Experiencing is your fourth, that's a welcome addition โ€” not a requirement.

Three sessions. Real cases. A small, closed group.

Depending on what cases come forward, you may move through all three phases in a single 75-minute session โ€” or spend deeper time on one. The work is fluid. It follows what's needed.

Phase One

Where you're stuck

Each clinician brings a current case โ€” a client whose system feels stuck, where the usual approaches haven't created movement. We start mapping what's actually happening underneath.

Phase Two

Where the door opens

We return to those cases with fresh eyes. This is often where embodied work comes in โ€” trying a moment live, noticing what a shift in approach opens up, and building your felt sense for the transition points.

Phase Three

Where you go from here

We integrate what's shifted โ€” for your clients, and for how you trust your own process. You leave with a felt experience of flowing between approaches, not just a concept of it.

A good fit if you're craving flow. Not the right fit if you want a framework.

This group is intentionally small โ€” five to six clinicians โ€” to keep it a real working space.

This is for you if โ€”

  • You're trained in at least 2โ€“3 of EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, or Somatic Experiencing.
  • You have a current client where nothing seems to be creating movement.
  • You sense openings in session but hesitate to follow them.
  • You want to bring real cases to a small group of peers trained like you are.
  • You're open to embodied, experiential exploration โ€” not just talking about cases.

This isn't for you if โ€”

  • You're looking to learn the basics of one of these modalities for the first time.
  • You want a step-by-step sequence for combining two specific approaches.
  • You're hoping for didactic teaching rather than case-based consultation.
  • You'd rather observe than bring your own case to the table.

Two groups. Pick the one that fits your week.

Both groups follow the same three-session arc, alternating monthly โ€” so you'll only see one of these on your calendar in any given month.

EMDR Certified & Consultant ยท Brainspotting ยท IFS ยท Somatic Experiencing

I'm trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, and Somatic Experiencing and in my own practice, I move between all four, often within a single session. Not because I'm following a formula, but because I've learned to follow what my client's system is showing me.

For years, I sat in trainings that taught me strict sequences: "do this, then this." I learned to follow the steps and recite the phases so I could serve my client better. But ultimately, I realized the most powerful work wasn't following the formula. It was following what my client's system was actually showing me. That requires attunement you can't script.

Then as a PA, I started noticing other clinicians in the same place: trained, competent, but stuck because they were choosing between approaches instead of learning to flow between them. They could master the structure and follow the manual when it said to pivot. But then they'd get into session with a real client, one whose system didn't follow the manual, and freeze. The attunement piece. The felt sense of knowing when a door is opening. That's what wasn't being taught.

That realization came into sharp focus recently in a conversation with a colleague. She was trained similarly to me but was stuck with a client. She'd tried every approach she knew, gotten consultation in each modality separately and still felt completely stuck. When we talked through it together, something shifted. Not because I gave her a new technique, but because we followed what the client's system was actually showing her. That moment confirmed what I'd been seeing for years: knowing the models isn't the gap. Trusting the flow between them is.

That's what this space is for: a small group of clinicians who already know their modalities, working through real cases together, and building trust in the moments between approaches.

Bring the case that's been sitting with you.

Spaces are limited to 5โ€“6 clinicians per group to keep this a true working consultation โ€” not a webinar. Let me know which day works for your schedule, and I'll follow up with availability.
